Accessibility Statement

How we design and maintain accessible Ministry of Justice services.

1. Our commitment

The Ministry of Justice & Constitutional Affairs is committed to ensuring that its digital services are accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

Our goal is to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and to continuously improve usability and inclusion.

2. Measures in place

  • Semantic HTML, structured headings, and accessible navigation patterns.
  • Support for keyboard-only navigation, logical focus order, and skip links.
  • High-contrast colour palettes with light and dark mode support.
  • Responsive layouts that adapt across phones, tablets, and desktop devices.
  • Support for assistive technologies through ARIA roles and labels where appropriate.

3. Ongoing improvement

Accessibility testing is incorporated into our release process. We welcome feedback about any barriers you encounter so that we can address them promptly.

4. Feedback

If you experience difficulty using a Ministry digital service, please let us know so we can help.

Email: [email protected] or [email protected] | Telephone: +252 61 xxxxxxx.

5. Enforcement procedure

The Ministry’s Public Affairs Section monitors accessibility compliance and coordinates corrective actions with relevant departments.

Formal complaints may be escalated to the Director General if a satisfactory response is not provided within 10 working days.
